Women’s Fitness

In keeping with the mission of the Falmouth Running Club to organize activities that encourage the sport of running, this fresh initiative’s goal is to offer various activities that support and promote fitness for women…for life. We are delighted to announce the Women’s Fitness program and look forward to connecting women in the club and our seaside community!

The 2024 Women Run Cape Cod 5k road race will be held on Sunday, May 12th, at 8am, and registration for runners is now open! Anyone interested in volunteering is invited to contact Mary Tolland at mct57@aol.com. WRCC5K will once again be donating to Girls On The Run and VIPS/Falmouth this year. The FRC is also running a couch-to-5k training program that should have participants all ready just in time for this fun May race! Walk & Talks continue to take place. The March Walk & Talks will be on March 10th and 17th; in April, the dates are the 7th and 21st. Gals are invited to gather at 7:30am at the Falmouth Running Club office at 661 Main Street, Falmouth, and we’ll walk for approximately 3 miles, with coffee/refreshments served post walk. Evening Walk & Talks are also happening on Thursday evenings, starting and ending at The Run House. FRC members will hear more about the schedule via email.

Jenny at Sweat Studio is generously offering a spin class package to FRC members for 5 consecutive Mondays. The 10 available bikes will go to the first folks who sign up – watch your email for information from the Club on how to get a spot!

Our members have been keeping busy this winter with a range of activities, including bowling nights at Timber Axe and Bowl in December, a craft night making decoupage holiday ornaments facilitated by FRC’s own Ellen Mace, and a series of boxing fitness classes generously offered by Jenny Mincone of Sweat Studio. For FRC members who want to join in the fun, look out for emails from the Club.

Pickleball on Tuesday evenings is hosted by one of our Women’s Fitness members through the warmer months – currently on hold for winter.

We’re always planning new events – keep an eye out for a “how-to” event on designing charcuterie boards! Ideas and suggestions for Women’s Fitness programming are always welcome.
