In keeping with the mission of the Falmouth Running Club to organize activities that encourage the sport of running, this fresh initiative’s goal is to offer various activities that support and promote fitness for women…for life. We are delighted to announce the Women’s Fitness program and look forward to connecting women in the club and our seaside community!
2025 Women Run Cape Cod 5k will take place on May 11th.
This race will benefit VIPS Falmouth Schools BE Bold Program for young girls and adolescents and Breakthrough T1D (formerly Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation). New this year: a kids’ activity table will be set up for young spectators to enjoy during the race!
Walk & Talks continue to take place. An email will go out to membership when dates are announced. Gals are invited to gather at 7:30am at the FRC office (661 Main St), and the group will walk and chat for about an hour, followed by coffee . No pace too slow or too fast, and no one will be left to walk alone! Please RSVP to Mary Tolland ([email protected]) if you can, and check your email for updates depending on the weather forecast.
Other events include Bowling Nights at Timber Axe Bar and Bowl for FRC members. Yoga classes are offered from Gratitude Yoga. The Sweat Studio offers various classes like Boxing. Team based, sport centric conditioning and strength classes are offered free to FRC members at Cardio Sport. Club members will receive details on these and any other events, and how to sign up, via email.
Pickleball on Tuesday evenings is hosted by one of our Women’s Fitness members, Wendy Ghelfi, in the summer months. For more info, contact Mary.
We’re always planning new events, and ideas and suggestions for Women’s Fitness programming are always welcome. For more information about the Women’s Fitness Initiative or any of the ongoing activities, contact Mary Tolland at [email protected].
